| This Is My Band Url: | http://www.thisismyband.com/JerrodsDoor |
Jerrods Door is best described as Psychadelic Tribal World Music... By
having instruments such as the Djembe from Africa and the Didgeridu
from the Aboriginese of Australia act as the Heartbeat and the Breath
of the music this becomes the foundation we work from.. We also use
many other instruments from the indiginous cultures of the world and
fuse them with modern instruments and technology... Add in the many
influences and genres we move through from the straight up Tribal mixed
with elements of funk, Jazz, Reggae, Southern Blues and Uncle Aliens
Influence and you have The Jerrods Door... Originally formed in south
Florida around 1999 when founding member Jeffrey returned from the west
coast and met the beings that would become the initial lineup ... since
then we have toured extensively from venues around the U.S. to major
Festivals.. There are the core members of Jerrods Door and then There
are the beings that come in and out of the door always bringing their
own special magic wich is an idea the band was founded on to always
keep it interesting, experimental, and fresh.. as of 2005 Jerrods Door
relocated their homebase to Asheville North Carolina to be in a more
positive environment that is condusive to original creative music... We
have come to a community of incredible musicians and bands that has
been the inspiration needed to take it all even further.. Jerrods Door
is a band that continues to explore and be inspired through creativity
and freedom both in the music and the audience.... "Music saved my
life" says founding member Jeffrey.. When the Drum and the Didgeridu
came into my life it took me off one path and put me on another... One
of Rythmic Evolution.. It awoke something very sacred that i believe
lives in each and every person and has become my purpose to turn as
many on to that as possible while i am here.. And it is through the
music that Jerrods Door has had the opportunity to meet the most
beautiful people from the ones we play with to the many we have met at
shows and festivals to some of the greats we have had the honor to
share the stage with such as Rev. Jeff Mozier and Blueground
Undergrass, Ray Manzarek of The Doors , Ritchie Havens, Events for Mrs.
Jimi Pages' organization "Children of Vietnam", Leftover Salmon, Donna
the Buffalo, Eek A Mouse and many others..Opening the Door to the Rythm
that is You is what it is all about..See you in the Music
